On August 15 2026 Elk Grove Village VFW Post 9284 marked it's ribbon cutting ceremony and open house with veterans, community leaders, VFW representatives, Auxiliary members, and local residents in attendance. The occasion celebrated the post’s dedication and its continuing commitment to serving veterans and their families.
Distinguished guests included Department of Illinois Past State Commander Brett Nila; Department of Illinois Auxiliary President Danielle Krull; District 4 Commander Evamarie Duff; Department of Illinois Past Auxiliary President Diane Ahrens; property owner David Singh; and Elk Grove Village Trustee Kathy Jarosch.
The ceremony began with the District 4 Color Guard presenting the colors. VFW Post 9284 Auxiliary President Carmen Oas welcomed guests and thanked everyone for attending. Post Commander Alexander G. Brenke then formally declared VFW Post 9284 dedicated and open for business and services to veterans.
The open house gave attendees an opportunity to gather in fellowship, recognize the service of local veterans, and celebrate the post as a welcoming community resource for those who have served.
VFW Post 9284 remains committed to honoring military service, supporting veterans and their families, and creating a welcoming place for fellowship. The open house highlighted the importance of preserving that mission for future generations.
